What Are Red Fish Oil Pills?

Red fish oil pills are extracted from krill; this is a crustacean which is a very shrimp like creature.

This oil is extremely rich in omega 3 fatty acids and is often sold in health stores and online as supplements. It can sometimes be known as krill oil instead of fish oil.

Krill Oil

Krill are a food source for many of the omega 3 rich fish we know of; fish like salmon regularly hunt krill as a primary food source. They harbor not only omega 3 but another powerful anti-oxidant know as astaxanthin.

There has been a lot of debate as to which is better, krill oil or fish oil.

Many feel that red fish oil pills that are made from krill have a higher quantity of omega 3.

They both have the two most important omega 3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexanoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentanoic acid) but they are constructed differently in each of the oils. In fish oil these are in a form known as triglyceride, krill oil on the other hand contains the fatty acids which are in what is known as a double chain phospholipid form. The krill oil is said to be better absorbed by our body because of the phospholipid structure.

Omega -3 Fatty Acids

You may have heard the buzz concerning omega 3 and its wonderful benefits for our health, krill is full of these omega -3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are very important for certain organs in our body and can help us to prevent and treat many diseases and conditions. These are famous for protecting our heart by keeping our blood pressure down, this is because omega-3 acids are extremely good anti-oxidants.

They can rid the toxins in our blood allowing it to be pumped around our body much more efficiently which results in a lower blood pressure. Another benefit these carry is lowering our cholesterol, protecting and enhancing our nervous system, and increasing our mental abilities.

Omega-3 Deficiency

Whether you decide on red fish oil pills or standard fish oil supplements they are both extremely good for our health, and in general we do not consume enough of them. Three quarters of us have a deficiency of the fatty acids in omega-3; this is going to cause us health complications sooner or later. These acids are vital for good health, and without them we risk developing many ailments and conditions.

In the western world we do not eat much fish, certainly not enough to gain our RDA of these acids. The rest of the world have a much healthier diet of fish, Asia, Scandinavia and Africa all regularly have fish as part of their diet. It is all about culture, our culture unfortunately has become too reliant on quick fix food, fast food restaurants and microwave meals.

We do have an answer in red fish pills though, so it’s strongly recommended we start to opt in to these supplements to get our long term health into better shape.
